Wow. I know that it's been a long time since anything happened in this community. And that really saddness me.

And I know that there hasn't been a post here since August, but, I think that if those that are interested want to do this--- just redo the entire list. Who can now will. Just erase the old lists. And those that have chapters already recorded can keep there spot.

Specially because we're about to get a new book. So lets do this! And if we have to get more people, we'll just have to pimp out the community to our flists!

I know we can. It's just a dip in the road!

Okay guys, we have three chapters due, and no chapters posted. This is the same thing that's happened before, and I'm guessing it will happen again.

So.

I need comments, do we want this community to go on? Because we need chapters posted on time if it's going to work. And there doesn't seem to be any point chasing up people, if they're not going to post the chapters anyway. Basically it feels like no-one is willing to put in the effort, other than a really small handful.

I don't want this community to stop being fun, but...

Hi all. I hate to say this, but I think I'm going to have to pull out of the community. I had Chapter 14 ("Snape's Grudge") to read, but I can only do phone posts. This wouldn't be *too much* of a big deal, except that my entire journal is now friends locked (I don't know if you can even get to the first chapter I ever did), so... I don't know how that would work. If there is a way for it to work, let me know, because I would like to read it. If not, I understand and am willing to let a reserve take it.
I am really sorry to be such a bloody bother.

Hello everyone! I know I've been hugely absent and this community is only just starting back up again properly, but I'd like to say that this place can be amazing again. It can be enthusiastic and fun and people can post on time and reply to the audio chapters with comments filled with praise! We can be a real community and have an awesome time, and others can come and find out about us but- and the catch is this -

We really need your wholehearted enthusiasm and effort!

I'd really like to ask you all the please, please, please, reply to mod posts asking if you can post, and please, please plug the community again so more people find out about it. Myself and lazy_daze are hugely enthused by this, and we love this comm like it were a small child, hee, and we want you all to feel the same way! If there is any reason you're unhappy or not posting comments, let us know. We want to help you! We want you all to love it here like we do!

Most of all, we want to see you post ,we want to see your ideas and we want to hear your voices if you have chapters assigned to you! So, let's hear three cheers for the RA and its members!

Our lovely kat99999 is having recording trouble so I’m going to pass her chapters to reserves - Chapter Three of PoA, The Knight Bus is due on the 14th August and I’m assigning it to chaneen!

And the other chapter is Chapter Eleven of OotP - The Sorting Hat's New Song. Obviously this won’t be due for a long while, but I’ll assign it to the reserve now – it goes to asterie_smiles.

Reserves, please comment to confirm :D!

(Also, I messed up the reserve link in the last post (though it's in the userinfo anyway) - comment here if you haven't got a chapter, (or indeed if you haven't got a full quota of three chapters, although people who haven't already done a chapter will be assigned chapters before people who've already read, if you know what I mean *incoherent*) if you want to help out by being on the reserve list.)

Right! You know what we’re going to do? We’re going to get PoA done! And then GoF! And then OotP! This project is Not Dead, it is just resting its eyes.

We’ve been busy and also once you start procrastination, it’s hard to actually get something done, but I am determined to get this back on the road.

I’m compiling a list of PoA chapters with dates and readers, starting on Monday (the tenth of August). I’ll post the list here and we’ll also do weekly reminders of readers coming up, and if people don’t confirm I’ll track them down, and if they can’t do it we’ll be calling on the reserve list. (Which is here for anyone who hasn’t been assigned a chapter and wants a chance of reading.)

Right, please comment to say that’s OK or if you won’t be able to do it, in which case we assign it to a reserve reader. wittywibbles appears to be somewhat deleted, so unless you're out there under a new guise I presume we'll have to get a reserve on Chapter 6.

So starting Monday, then, we will have these chapters due next week:

Chapter One - Owl Post – innerslytherin - 10th August

Chapter Two - Aunt Marge's Big Mistake - heidi8 - 12th August

Chapter Three - The Knight Bus - kat99999 - 14th August

Chapter Four - The Leaky Cauldron – thessamunga - 16th August

Then we’ll post the next block next week.


If anyone’s collecting the chapters and have some missing, I have all files so far on my computer and can upload them on request if the original links are broken. I know this community has been on a sort of unofficial hiatus with posting for quite some time now- this is probably part blame of everybody involved. But being modly mod, I feel responsible so I figured I should make a bit of a post. We're very very behind, but myself and lazy_daze have both had a heck of a lot on lately with exams and visits and goodness knows what else, and so haven't really been able to 100% moderate the community ourselves. I think we were rather hoping you guys would carry on as you were going, but this hasn't been the case and that's not a problem at all! I think that, unless you guys just want to start posting again in order of chapter - because the set date thing doesn't seem to have really worked out - then we can just start afresh in a few weeks time. My social calendar will be clear at the end of July, so that's when I would otherwise hope to start off again.

But, if you guys don't want to wait that long, then I believe it's innerslytherin's turn any day now :)) So comment guys, let us know how you feel and what you'd like to do! It's your community as well! :)

Hey! ktnb has had some difficulties and can't do Chapter 13 (The Very Secret Diary) of CoS, so I'm assigning it to reserve kaalee - up as soon as possible, please :D cause we've nearly done CoS! Just that and the last chapter to go!!

And opaquebubble can't do her chapter of PoA - Chapter Eleven, The Firebolt - so I'm assigning it to gaiamyles. It won't have to be up for ages, but I'm just letting you know now :))

PS. Listening back, I notice that I seem to have dropped occasional syllables (often at the ends of words) or words. Rather, I articulated them physically, but failed to maintain enough volume for them to be audible -- possibly because it's very late and I was half-whispering on a cell phone, possibly from enthusiasm, and possibly due to general tendencies of my dialect. Anyway, sorry if the odd word or two is unintelligible.

After a long week of patience, I'm finally able to get this posted. Terribly, terribly sorry for the delay. Dial-up and real life sometimes hate me that much. BUT before I give you the chapter I must give a special thanks to saffronlie, without whom all you other poor souls on dial-up would have to deal with the terrible pain that is trying to download MEGAHUGE .wav files. Uh and fair warning: am very, very terrible at voices. Please don't hold that against me. Heh.

So, I'm scheduled to post Chapter 15 tomorrow, but unfortunately, I will not be able to do it then because I'll have no time. In fact, I'm fairly busy for the rest of the week. Now, I just intended to post today instead and I've tried to upload the chapter (I've got it all recorded and everything which is why this is so frustrating) onto the site, but it seems that the files are much bigger then I thought and since I have dial up are taking forever and a day to load. Woe is me and death to dial up.

Now, first things first, does anyone know how I can make the recorded files smaller so I can upload them faster? If not, well, mods would you be terribly angry if I could not post my chapter until this weekend? I, without a doubt, can do it then if no one knows a way for me to shrink the files. I'm really sorry to have to unload this problem so late in the game (and especially since there have been so many set backs lately), but it cannot be avoided. At least now I know for future reading to upload the chapters days in advance. That's something, I guess. Meh.
